Budapest among the top 50 cities with most hours spent in traffic congestion
The INRIX 2018 Global Traffic Scorecard is an analysis of congestion and mobility trends in more than 200 cities, across 38 countries. A new methodology for the 2018 Global Traffic Scorecard allows for cross-national rankings and analysis, delivering in-depth insights for drivers and policy-makers to make better decisions informed by big data.

Euronews reported INRIX’s study about major cities regarding their traffic situation. Budapest also got featured in the list taking the 30th place getting into the top 50 cities out of more than 200 in 38 countries. The case got worse, and the average hours spent in congestions increased by 11% since 2017.Â
In 2018, an average Hungarian driver spent 162 hours in traffic congestion.Â

In Europe, Rome is the leader with 272 hours which increased by 16% since 2017. Dublin made into the list with 246 hours, Paris 237 while London with 227 hours. In general, there is no city which could decrease the number of hours spent in traffic congestions.Â
The record-breaker is the Colombian city of Bogota with 11 and half days for drivers.Â

Improvements also can be observed as the Russian capital Moscow was the 1st city on the list in 2017, but in 2018 it got the 10th place. To solve the problem of traffic congestions, major German cities should be taken as an example, like Mannheim, Wiesbaden, and Hannover where the number of hours spent in congestions decreased by an average of 20% since 2017.Â
